Speke in the 50s, it was a New Council ...Hi Again,<br /> Speke in the 50s, it was a New Council estate, people were very friendly and helped each other out, I loved going to Bluebell woods and the 5 ponds , many adventures there. we had later Fords Factory, my dad worked at Metal-Box near the Airport, I remember Gordons mobile Bus for Groceries, and the mobile COOP bus, I would take Mums DIVI book when I went to the COOP Bus, I do remember Lonnie Donegan coming to our road in Speke , there were 100s of us Kids milling round his Car, which I think was an American Limo ! ! I can also remember the Street Party for the crowning of the Queen on 2nd June 1953, everybody was a that Party ! I sometimes think what if I had learned to play the guitar could I have been one of the Beatles !
